Before you upload to your webspace

1. Please ensure that the first page you wish visitors to your site to see is called index.htm (all lower case)
2. Please ensure that you connect via your Tesco internet access connection before uploading. Failure to do so, or connecting with another ISP’s connection will result in an error.

Uploading

1. Open the folder on your hard drive that contains your finished web site



2. Connect to your Tesco internet access service
3. Open Internet Explorer and enter the following address into the Internet Explorer address bar:

ftp://user.name:password@homepages.tesco.net

WHERE

user.name is your Tesco internet access username (the first part of your main e-mail address BEFORE the @ symbol)

password is your Tesco internet access password

4. This will open a window similar to the one below:



5. Return to the folder window with your complete web site. Click Edit followed by Select All



6. Drag and drop the files and folders from the folder to the Internet Explorer window. The files will then upload to your webspace

To view your uploaded site, please type the following address into the Internet Explorer address bar:

http://homepages.tesco.net/user.name

user.name is your Tesco internet access username (the first part of your main e-mail address BEFORE the @ symbol)
